Pearls are formed by oysters when foreign substances, such a grain of sand, come inside of their shells. Even when they open their mouths to breathe, such foreign substances can enter. Thus, they make the mineral substances to cover the unwelcome guest that gives pain to them, and the layers of these become a pearl. Like salt that takes a long time and a lot of labour, tears and sweat that we shed for something we crave contain salt.
